About Our Breeding Program!

Borderview cowboys returning home from work...

We have performance bred Quarter Horses, raised on the ranch for competitions, ranch work or pleasure. Our mares are bred and foal on the range so the colts can grow and develop naturally. They have good trainable minds and good bone and bodies. You will enjoy riding them for ranch work or competitions for many years.

Our bloodlines have a nice balance of old foundation breeding along with the latest performance horses. Our mares come in all colors, bay, black, grulla, palimino, buckskin, grey, and sorrel. We are always looking forward to next years' foals. Each one is always the 'magic' cross!

Most of our stallions are nominated to the Cow Country Breeders Futurities in Miles City, Montana, and the Montana Reined Cow Horse Futurities in Kalispell, Montana. Three of our stallions are also nominated for the South Dakota Reined Cowhorse Futurity. Check out the added money in the purses of all of these futurities. One of our horses could be your next winner!

We have some started fillies, geldings and stallions for sale at the ranch now. Some of these are ready to go roping or competing on, or just use for pleasure or ranch work.

There are also some broodmares for sale that are in foal for 2010 to our stallions.

We have weanlings and yearlings for sale too. We would love to show them to you.

We are easy to find...if you are coming from Terry, take the Terry-Brockway highway (Hwy 253) north to the 40 mile marker and turn left (west) on the Watkins road and go until you come to a T in the road, turn right (north) on Chalk Butte Road, go for one mile to Skull Creek Road and turn left (west) and go for four miles. Turn left (south) along the trees and turn right (west) across the cattle guard. You will see horses!

If you come on Highway 200, turn south on to Chalk Butte Road between mile markers 259 and 260, go south about 4 miles to Skull Creek Road, west four miles. There is a large Hagland Gelbveigh sign in the shape of Montana at the turn off the highway.

Our phone number is 406-485-2109 and you can leave a message if we aren't in the house.
